Hi Friend,
I’m Brian Keyser, research associate for Health Policy at CAP. I'm writing to tell you about how the far-right extremists behind Project 2025 want to push more seniors into privatized Medicare and give corporations more power than doctors and patients.
Medicare is a critical government program that provides health care coverage for over 67 million older and disabled Americans.
Project 2025 will put more control in the hands of profit-driven corporations by making Medicare Advantage—the privatized option for Medicare coverage—the default enrollment option for everyone in Medicare.
In the name of cost savings, Medicare Advantage plans have harmed patients by limiting their choice of physicians and hospitals and even denying doctor-recommended care. This is because privatized Medicare plans’ cost-saving efforts benefit their own bottom lines.
If the extreme plans in Project 2025 become reality, corporations will have more control over care than doctors or patients, enriching their bottom lines and threatening Medicare’s future.
